Bareket

בָּרֶקֶת — Emerald

Bareket is created to adorn your Shabbat table, each one bearing the name of a Jewish queen. Inspired by Judaic heirlooms and designed in Jerusalem, the seven covers are hand-embroidered in our New Delhi atelier using the ancient art of Zardozi, requiring between 40–130 hours of craftsmanship. Gold and silver metallic thread, pearls, crystals and glass beads are meticulously worked with silk thread into fine linen and sumptuous velvet.

The Collection Story

Why Bareket

Bareket — emerald — is the stone of the second tribe on the High Priest's breastplate. We named this collection for what it carries: the weight of something real. Seven models, each bearing the name of a Jewish queen — Judith, Myriam, Batsheva, Shlomtzion, Athalia, Esther. Each worked entirely by hand: gold and silver metallic thread through 100% linen, shimmering velvet, and upholstery-grade fabric. Sizes range from 41 × 53 cm to 45 × 62 cm. Labor from approximately 40 to 130 hours per piece. What arrives on your Shabbat table has been held, and turned, and finished by hand — in a studio in New Delhi that Liora and David Yair opened together in 2022.

"Seven models. Each a name. Each a story carried in thread."

★★★★★
The most beautiful thing on my Shabbat table. The embroidery is extraordinary — I've had it six months and guests stop every Friday to look at it.

Worth every shekel. The Esther is breathtaking — you can feel the hours that went into it. I keep it on the table even when it's not Shabbat, just to look at.

The Miriam in lilac is exactly what I imagined, and somehow more beautiful in person. The colour, the weight, the embroidery — it's perfect. I ordered a second for my sister.
